Dan Cormier &
Tracy Holmes are back in 2008 with
a range of courses.
This year they are offering
several retreats and workshops.
All courses will be held at The
Haven on beautiful Gabriola
Island off the coast of Vancouver Island.
Read Susan Lomuto's rave review of Dan and Tracy's 'Building
a Better Bead' class on her PolymerClayNotes
blog.
And if that doesn't get you signing up, here is one of
Dan's
newest pieces.
Past Events
The 2008 Morrisburg Polymer
Clay Gathering occurred from April 24th
to April 27th. There were a wide
variety of workshops planned and we were fortunate to have
the following artists to share their expertise:
Georgia Ferrell - Sculpting, Shaping and Forming
Polymer Clay
Barb Bowman and Jacey Culham - Hearts
and Wires
Barbara Colautti - Chinese PorcelainAdria
Filion - Inspired Decorative Masks
Leslie Lockhart - Never Ending Polymer Clay Card
What could be better than a weekend spent amongst a talented
group of fellow clay addicts who are so generously eager
to share their tips, tricks and expertise? Fabulous workshops,
more food than anyone should eat, wonderful service, the
beauty of the Saint Lawrence, and the funniest/friendliest
group of women you could ever meet...MPCG
with Clayamies. Be there next year!
This year at MPCG Vio and
Margi planned a fun little activity called
"Creating a Masterpiece. Of course they were the only
ones who knew that
at the beginning. Each participant was given a printed template
the
size of an ATC (art trading card...2.5 x 3.5) and was asked
to
replicate the image on the card. They were asked to keep
the tones and
lines similar, but could use texture, pattern, dimension
etc. On Sunday
we assembled the painting to create Picasso's "The
Dream" It was our
masterpiece!!!
Voila Picasso
