Several years ago, I became ill. My entire life changed. I couldn't do the things I had been doing. Having to recreate your life is devastating but can provide you with opportunities to try new things. At first I tried bear making but making bears was too hard on my hands and arms. In a magazine, I came across an article about making dolls from polymer clay. I really wanted to give this a try. In 2003, I attended my first doll making class. It happened to be Jack Johnston's beginning doll making class. The class was a great experience. Being in a room with like-minded individuals, being taught by a master doll maker, and actually creating a doll for three days without interruptions of any kind, it was like a vacation. Last year was the advanced class and this summer, I attended the Masters class in doll making. This class was pivotal. I now know what I want to be when I grow up. My plans are to become a professional doll maker but for right now, I am happy just studying new techniques and styles. Some day, maybe soon, I will feel ready to sell my dolls go.

I just joined the Art Doll Guild. My name isn't there yet but you can contact me through them.
