So you want to meet a real live artist, eh?
She’s short.
She hates Brussels Sprouts.
She makes neat stuff.
She’s Krista Wells, the artist formerly and presently known
as Krista Wells!
"I've
been a bit of a juggler most of my working life. For the 11 years
that I earned a living as a professional actor travelling across North
America, I also did some sound and set-painting work for theatre as
well as pursuing my interest in visual and graphic art. In 1995 I
established ArtWare Studio. Two years later I exited stage left from
theatre. There was about one full year where I only had to toss one
ball in the air, ArtWare, but I missed juggling, so in 1998 when I
was offered a job at Salter Street Films (now PowerPost Production)
as the Foley Artist I couldn't resist. Now I divide my time between
the sound studio in Halifax and my art studio in Diligent River. My
partner Michael Fuller, who operates a paragliding school, and I travel
whenever possible, Portugal being one of our favourite spots to explore.
Another love of my life is dogs - Border Collies specifically. At
the moment we have two, Izzy and Fica. Michael and I also have some
fun playing with a couple of bands. He plays sax and I play trombone
for the Parrsboro Citizens’ Band and The Elastic Big Band. And
then there are all the top secret projects that I’m involved
in but I can’t go into details
as that could jeopardize the whole shootin’ match. So ...that’s
that. I have a busy life... and I couldn’t be happier.”
